How much does SmoothCut cost?
SmoothCut costs $79 once for Personal (one computer, a year of updates) or $169 once for Pro (up to 5 computers, every future update). There is no subscription and both plans include every feature. It is free to try with no account: exports are 720p at 30 fps with a small Made with SmoothCut mark until you add a licence, which also unlocks 4K, 60 fps and share links. Refunds are available for fourteen days.

Questions
Is it a subscription?
No. One payment. Personal includes a year of updates from the day you buy; Pro includes every update we ever ship. Your app keeps working either way.
Do I need a licence to try it?
No. Download it and use all of it, exporting included. A free export is 720p at 30 fps and carries a small Made with SmoothCut mark; a licence opens 4K at 60 fps, share links and a clean export.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The licence is verified on your machine. It checks in quietly every couple of weeks when it can, with a month of grace after that.
New laptop?
Deactivate the old one from your account page, or just activate the new one if you have a free seat.
Refunds?
Fourteen days, no questions. Email hello@smoothcut.studio with your order id. The full policy is at /refunds.
Can I upgrade from Personal to Pro later?
Yes. You pay the difference between the two, and your licence becomes a Pro licence: five computers and every update we ever ship.
What happens when my year of updates ends?
Nothing stops working. The version you have keeps recording, editing and exporting for as long as you like; you just stop receiving new versions unless you move to Pro.
