Terms and Conditions

These terms are an agreement between you and SS Enterprises ("we", "us"), the maker of SmoothCut. They cover the smoothcut.studio website and buying a SmoothCut licence. Use of the app itself is covered by the Licence Agreement. By using the site or buying a licence you accept these terms.

1. 1. Who we are

2. 2. The product

   SmoothCut is a desktop application for macOS and Windows that records, edits and exports screen recordings. The app is free to download and use for recording, editing and preview. Exporting a video requires a licence. Features are described on the site as they are at the time of writing and may change between versions.

3. 3. Buying a licence

   Licences are sold as a one-time purchase in two editions:

   • Personal: one computer, all features, updates released within one year of purchase.
   • Pro: up to five computers, all features, every update we release.

   A Personal licence may be upgraded to Pro by paying the difference. Prices are shown in US dollars on the pricing page and at checkout; taxes are added at checkout where they apply. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, who act as the merchant of record: their receipt is your proof of purchase, and their terms apply to the payment itself.

4. 4. Delivery

   Your licence key is emailed to the address you paid with, normally within a few minutes of payment. If it does not arrive, use the Lost your key page or contact us. Nothing is shipped physically.

5. 5. Refunds

   You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase for any reason. The full policy, including what happens to the licence, is in our Refund Policy.

6. 6. Accounts

   An account on smoothcut.studio is optional and exists to manage the computers on your licence. You sign in with a code sent to your email; you are responsible for access to that mailbox. Do not use the site to probe, overload or attack our systems, or to obtain a licence you did not pay for.

7. 7. Chargebacks and misuse

   If a payment is reversed by a chargeback or a dispute, the licence it paid for is revoked. If a licence is shared, resold, or activated on more computers than it allows by working around the seat limit, we may revoke it. In both cases the app keeps working for recording and editing; only export is affected.

8. 8. Content on the site

   The site, its text, images and design belong to SS Enterprises. Comparisons with other products describe their pricing and delivery model as we understood them on the date shown, and we correct them when told they are out of date. Other companies' names and marks belong to them.

9. 9. No warranty for the site

   The website is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available but do not promise it will always be. The app's warranty terms are in the Licence Agreement.

10. 10. Liability

    To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or your use of the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. 11. Changes

    We may update these terms. The date at the top says when. A change that affects a purchase you have already made will not apply to that purchase.

12. 12. Governing law

    These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Chandigarh, India. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be overridden, those rights still apply.
