Affiliate Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and SS Enterprises ("we", "us") about recommending SmoothCut through an affiliate link. You accept them when you join the programme from your account.

1. 1. Your commission

   You earn 50% of the net amount of every SmoothCut licence bought by someone you referred. Net means the price the buyer paid less sales tax or VAT and our payment processor's fee (Dodo Payments, currently 4% + 40¢ per payment). If that buyer later upgrades the same licence from Personal to Pro, you earn 50% of the net amount of the upgrade too.

   Your account shows each sale, its net amount and your commission.

2. 2. How a sale is credited to you

   Your link is smoothcut.studio/r/your-code, or any page with ?ref=your-code added. A visit through it is remembered for 90 days in that browser. Because SmoothCut is a desktop app, a referral is also carried into the app when it is downloaded from that browser and first opened, so purchases made later from inside the app are credited to you.

   The first affiliate to refer a person or a computer is credited; a later link does not replace an earlier one. Purchases we cannot trace to your link cannot be credited, and our records decide which affiliate, if any, referred a sale.

3. 3. The holding period and refunds

   A commission becomes payable 14 days after the sale, once the refund window has closed. If the sale is refunded or reversed by a chargeback, the commission is cancelled. If it had already been paid to you, the same amount is taken off your next payout.

4. 4. Payouts

   We pay by PayPal, to the PayPal address in your account, once a week, by hand. A balance under $25.00 rolls over to the following week. Amounts are in US dollars.

   Because payouts are made by hand, one may occasionally arrive a few days late. A late payout is still paid in full. If one has not arrived within two weeks of becoming due, email hello@smoothcut.studio.

   You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn, and for PayPal's fees on receiving it.

5. 5. Not allowed

   • Buying through your own link, for yourself or for a computer you use, or arranging for someone to buy on your behalf. Self-referred sales are detected and rejected and earn nothing.
   • Bidding on “SmoothCut” or misspellings of it in search ads, or running ads that look like they come from us.
   • Posting your link on coupon, deal or cashback sites, or promising a discount we do not offer.
   • Spam: unsolicited email or messages, comment spam, or fake reviews.
   • Saying you are SmoothCut, work for us, or speak for us.
   • Cookie stuffing, hidden frames, or any trick that sets a referral without a real click by a real person.

6. 6. Our rights

   We reserve the right to withhold, cancel or reverse any commission, and to pause or close any affiliate account, if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, a sale is fraudulent or self-referred, or a payment has been or is likely to be reversed. We may also decline an application or change a commission that was credited by mistake.

   We will use this right fairly and in good faith, not to avoid paying commission that was honestly earned. If we withhold a commission we will tell you why when you ask, and you can reply with anything that shows we got it wrong.

7. 7. Changes and ending

   We may change these terms, including the commission rate, with at least 14 days' notice by email; commission already earned is paid under the terms it was earned under. You can leave at any time by emailing us. If the programme or your account ends for any reason other than a breach of these terms, payable commission is still paid.

8. 8. Relationship

   You are an independent promoter, not our employee, agent or partner, and you must say that you earn a commission where the law or the platform you post on requires it. These terms are governed by the laws of India, with disputes subject to the courts of Chandigarh, India.
