A recording is a message, and it should reach the person it is for without a render queue in between. Sharing is optional: nothing is uploaded unless you press Share.

How it works
Share links, step by step

The link comes first
Press Share and the link is on your clipboard straight away. The video uploads as it renders, so you can paste the link into a message while it finishes.

Viewers answer at a moment
People watching can react at a point in the video and leave a comment with a timestamp, so feedback says where, not just what.

You stay in control of it
Password-protect a link, republish a new cut to the same address, extend it, or let it expire. Links are unlisted: only people you send one to can watch.

Is sharing required?
No. SmoothCut works entirely on your computer. A share link uploads a copy of one export, and only when you press Share.
How long does a link last?
A share expires 90 days after it is made unless you extend it from your account. Expired shares are deleted.
Are shared videos private?
Links are unlisted rather than private: anyone who has the link can watch, and you can add a password.
