One recording can be laid out for every platform. You do not edit it again for each.

Changing the shape

Use the aspect control above the timeline to switch between 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1.

• 16:9 for YouTube, docs and decks.
• 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. The camera is stacked with the screen instead of floating over it.
• 1:1 for a feed.

The cuts, zooms, captions and sound are shared between shapes. Only the layout changes.

Why the zooms matter more on a phone

A full desktop is unreadable on a small vertical screen. The automatic zooms move in on what you are doing, which is what makes a screen recording work at 9:16 at all. Add your own with ⌥Z.

Exporting

Press Export video and choose MP4 or GIF, the aspect ratio and the size: 720p, 1080p or 4K, limited by the size of what you recorded. See Exporting.
